Master Carter with Grand Master General Choi Chong Hi

Carter Schools of Taekwon-do was founded in 1987 by Master Carter and is one of the oldest official ITF schools in the country. Master Carter VII is the principle instructor who is an international examiner (CRB checked, A.B.A.P.T).

He has trained with the founder of Taekwon-do Grand Master General Choi Chong Hi and has attended several international seminars, umpired at competitions across the country and has hosted Competitions such as the Norfolk Open and Cambridgeshire Open for several years.

We're a family school of taekwon-do built for families. This is so families can have a sport where they can learn and grow together. We have many family discounts available as we are a community based school. We want to be an affordable school for anyone to participate in. Both Master Carter's daughters have trained in our schools as he values the benefits of teaching children self-defence.

All of our classes are mixed abilities for children aged 3yrs and above. Private lessons at our family gym in Downham Market are also available upon request. Please contact Master Carter to arrange a lesson.

Our Affiliations

Carter Schools of Taekwon-do is a part of a wider group of schools called the Alliance Taekwon-do United Kingdom Association (A.T.U.K). Through Alliance, we are affiliated to the British Taekwon-Do Council (B.T.C), the International Taekwon-Do Federation (I.T.F) and Europe ITF Taekwon-do Federation (E.I.T.F).

This means our students have access to a network of schools across the UK and have the opportunity to take part in local, national and international seminars and competitions.
